Ice & Water Barrier Products for Winter

OwensCorningRoof

Hedrick Construction provides Owens Corning products to protect your roof and home all year long. Your roof is a vital aspect of your home; without the proper protection, your home is vulnerable to damage, particularly during extreme weather conditions. Wind, snow, ice, and rain are a roof’s worst enemies. That’s where our WeatherLock® ice and water barrier products come in. They will offer your roof additional protection against Mother Nature and grant you peace of mind during the cold season.

WeatherLock® Cold Climate Waterproofing Underlayment

This underlayment is made with a dual-layer composition to protect your roof against cold weather. The top layer is a granulated asphalt surface that reduces the number of loose granules and allows for better traction to make installation safer and easier. The interior layer is reinforced with a durable Fiberglas® mat. This waterproof underlayment is engineered to prevent damage typically caused by ice dams and wind-driven rains. It is placed strategically in valleys and along eaves, the two areas most vulnerable to water damage.

WeatherLock® Flex Flexible Self-Sealing Ice & Water Barrier

This barrier protects the roof deck against water infiltration that can result from persistent freezing and thawing, wind-driven rains, or regular rainfall.  Placed in valleys, along eaves, and around chimneys and skylights, WeatherLock® Flex can be used on roofs with asphalt shingles, slate, or wood shakes. It combines a flexible poly surface and modified asphalt that can adhere around irregularly shaped structures and in corners. It also seals tightly around nails to prevent water leaks. The most important aspect of WaterLock® Flex is that is adds a waterproof barrier to the most vulnerable areas of your roof.

WeatherLock® Mat Ice & Water Barrier

WeatherLock® Mat is a water barrier that lies beneath the shingles, slate, or wood shakes, providing a second line of defense against water damage. It will protect the exposed roof in case shingles are blown off, ice dams form, or wind-driven rain forces water berneath the shingles during heavy storms. While providing heavy-duty protection, WeatherLockMat® lightweight.  It is made from polymeric asphalt, which is 40% lighter than many common granulated products.  This makes it easier to move and install and places a lighter load on the structure of your home. It is ususally placed along eaves, valleys, and rakes but can also be placed across the entire roof for maximum protection.

WeatherLock® G Granulated Self-Sealing Ice & Water Barrier

This product allows water to flow properly off of the roof in the winter when ice dams form. It forms a protective and waterproof barrier between the roof deck and the shingles. It is placed, like all of the other WeatherLock products, in areas of the roof that are most vulnerable to water damage. It can be applied to the entire roof deck but is usually placed in valleys and around roof penetrations such as a chimney or skylight. It has a taped selvedge edge that improves its sealing ability.
